ON SELF PRESERVATION
Navigating this world through the lens of our soul.
Our individual path to oneness is often diverged.
The knowing of self is the guiding light.
A meeting point of like souls.
Interconnectedness.
Where there is no separation.
Where the story of One meets the story of We.
On Self, Preservation aims to inspire its audience to embrace a mindful
approach to relationships. Emphasising the significance of maintaining one's
individual identity while actively fostering meaningful connections with
others.
The visual narrative seeks to capture the balance between personal growth
and the need for self- care within the realm of interpersonal relationships.
This unfolds through a series of carefully curated images that narrate the
intersection between fashion, introspection and belonging.
The models, styled in emerging South African designer Nhlanhla Masemola's
minimalist yet playful creations, represent the embodiment of self-awareness
in their pursuit of meaningful connections without compromising the self.
We further explore the narrative of self through the preservation of chairs
wrapped in recycled paper symbolising the cycling of life as we grow through
transitions, friendships and careers. Harnessing the knowledge we have
learnt while presenting a new.
This editorial serves as a visual and conceptual exploration of the delicate dance between One and We
